About Sally

Sally Pickar, Reiki Master

Sally Pickard

Reiki Master, Usui Shiki Ryoho

My early career was in singing and the theatre, and my therapeutic work began in London in the mid-eighties when I trained as both social worker and counsellor, specialising in health, bereavement and mental health issues. For some years I enjoyed a busy, part-time counselling practice whilst bringing up my daughter, doing occasional work for the theatre and deepening my spiritual life. I was initiated into Reiki in March 1994.

Since my initiation as a Reiki Master in 1997 I have committed my life to the teaching and practice of Usui Shiki Ryoho, the Usui System of Natural Reiki Healing, and I work in the global community in various capacities.

I am a long-time member of the UK Reiki Association, a community of people initiated into Reiki, and have worked for this organisation as a volunteer in various capacities down the years. I served on the Executive committee in the Association's early years, edited Touch, its in-house magazine, worked as an advisor for public practice, and in 2006 I retired from a part-time paid post as Co-ordinator.

I’m currently based in Warwick and spend time travelling, offering talks, classes and private sessions in Reiki; I also offer Reiki events in different parts of the UK and an annual silent Reiki retreat.

It’s wonderful to me that my life is lived through Reiki, and an honour to bring this profound healing practice into the lives of others.
